Just imagine: Webinar 4, Break the rules
28.1.21
28.1.21
I was invited to be a panellist for the final webinar in a series of 4 webinars hosted by Jonny Baker on imagination. Over 4 consecutive weeks he explored different topics around creativity with a focus on church. Here is the full video of the session. My interview starts at 22.35.
Here are my 28.1.21 Notes for Just imagine: Break the rules and these are the images that I talked about:
I was very pleased to be invited to take part but surprisingly nervous about it. I think it's much harder to talk to a screen than to talk to people face to face. I felt as if I wasn't very articulate, and definitely less articulate than usual. Knowing that there were over 200 people listening remotely was an amazing experience though.
The experience was useful for my research as well. Here are some of my reflections before the event, drawing together all the elements of rule breaking in my practice:

25.1.21 Breaking the rules 2
Have a look at the PROVOCATION page too, which has more research in this area. It was very useful to gather my thoughts together in this way.

I was also asked to think of a couple of slogans which subvert cultural expectations. Here they are:
A couple of days later I received an email from someone who had attended the webinar asking me about my research into relational antagonism. I sent her this 1.2.21 Why antagonism? It was very helpful for me to gather all my research together in one place, and I hope it will also be helpful for the woman who asked about it.
