Blue knitting plus George Thoms' tiny person, 26.11.20
A spontaneous collaboration! George and I were doing a Photography Induction and at the end of the session I was practising taking photos of a piece of blue knitting. George had a small, blue, 3D printed figure with him and put it by my knitting so that we could photograph it.... and this is the result. I love this photo. There's something about the complementary blues, surface, texture, contrast. I especially love the way it plays with scale. It gives me ideas for other ways to create illusions by using photos and videos to play with settings and scale. Enormous knitting? Projections onto different settings? Objects with photos? Photoshop? Green screening? Lots more to explore. And maybe it's especially pertinent during the current restrictions of the pandemic.
