Working drawing for Body cage 2, 16.11.20
My plan is to make a series of concentric rings of steel, using the dimensions of my body. I will connect them with some kind of strap - probably textile (webbing, velvet, string, fake fur?) - so that the rings sit flat but can become a 3D sculpture. It will be wearable, but could also  be suspended.
10.11.20, Bending 10 mill steel rod
I started using 10 mill steel rod, but it was hard to bend. Also, Si pointed out that the completed bands all together would be very heavy to wear!
16.11.20, Bending 6 mill steel rod
Today I used 6 mill steel rod. It feels much more suitable. It was also so much easier to bend.
18.11.20 More bending and welding
18.11.20  I'm really pleased with what I've done so far. The thinner steel is much easier  to work with, will be lighter and also is more subtle. I think my welding is better too. I just have the final band to weld, and then trial ways to attach them to one another.

I have reflected about the issues with Combining steel and textiles here.
