Experimenting with rust, 5.11.20 -
5.11.20
I have decided to leave my latest metal sculpture, Body cage, in the garden, to document the rusting and to experiment with mark making with rust on a selection of textile surfaces. I've written more about my ideas here To rust or not to rust? I am now making a canvas body which will interact with the rusting metal and, hopefully capture some of the rust colouration. I have also researched Dyeing with rust, so might also look at ways to accelerate and manipulate the rusting process.
I've also worn Body cage for a private performance.
