Design ideas for metal joints:
Again, in discussion with Si, we came up with this wonderful idea for jointed limb like sections to attach the lead hands to the stand and curves. I bought some mild steel round stock, drilled a hole in it and then cut it into 10ml discs. I then welded the discs to the ends of various 10ml rods of different lengths. Each assemblage needed 4 joints, ie 8 discs, so for 3 assemblages, that's 24 discs! It inevitably took several days to do all of this.
I'm keen for each 'limb' to be set at a different angle, but I'll need to test out the strength of the joints once the lead hands are cast.
