The Knitting and Stitching Show is a large trade show for textile enthusiasts which takes place in several large venues around the UK.It also has a range of art galleries and I have often seen interesting and innovative stitched art work there.
This year, the highlight for me was seeing Daisy Collingridge's wearable squishy sculptures, being worn. I had seen one before, unworn, but obviously seeing them as living sculptures interested me much more. Sadly, I didn't get to meet her, but I spoke to her father who models the sculptures. I think her use of colour and texture is fabulous and the forms she creates definitely capture something of the vulnerability of the naked human form.

Another highlight for me was seeing the Vlieseline Fine Art Textile Award. I had entered, but didn't have my work selected. It's a new award, particularly for stitched work, so it was useful to see it. I feel as if my work is too abstract and 'sloppy' for that particular award, but maybe I'll apply again another year!
The winner was Ann Goddard. I was pleased to see the work of a number of artists I follow on Instagram eg Caren Garfen, Shelly Goldsmith and Tara Kennedy.
